Falling in Love-Ch10

I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon, but I didn’t hear anyone moving around. I looked at the clock, which read 7:00 A.M, then crawled out of bed and walked into the bathroom to wash my face and put my contacts in. I slid down the banister and walked into the kitchen. I found a handwritten note stuck to the microwave door. I pulled it off and opened the microwave door. I took the plate of food and sat down at the kitchen island. I looked down at the note. I read it while I ate my breakfast.

Dear Kay,
I know you probably never want to see me again so I’m staying at Evgeni’s house tonight. I’m at the Mellon Area practicing with the team. I’ll be there until 9 if you change your mind about seeing me. I hope we can talk some day about what happened last night. I’ll be coming home tomorrow to pick up so stuff then I’ll be out of your life. You can keep the house if you want. I’ll pay for it for you. Just remember that I love you, Kay. And I always will.

The note fell from my hand as my fingers lost the grip on the slip of paper. As the paper fell to the ground my feet ran up the stairs into the bathroom to take a shower. I dried myself off the walked into the bedroom and over to the closet. I grabbed a pair a jeans and blue and black polka dotted shirt which I slipped over my matching black bra and underwear. I rushed downstairs and grabbed Sid’s car keys and bolted out the door. I opened the door to a blue mustang. I drove down the road toward the arena. I pulled into the arena parking lot and sprinted toward the doors entering into the arena. I looked down at my watch as I tried to open the door. It read 8:30. I dialed Sidney’s number while I looked for his other car, his silver range rover. I was sure I’d reach his voicemail, but surprisingly he answered.
“Hello?”
“Sidney?”
“Kay?”
“Yea. I was wondering if you could take a minute out of practice to come open the front door for me.”
“Hold on. I need to ask coach.” I could hear Sid screaming to his coach and his coach screaming back.
“Ok. I’ll be there in a couple seconds.” He said as he hung the phone up. He arrived at the door shortly after that. He opened the door with his skates still on.
“Thanks.” I said looking at the ground.
“I would’ve been here quicker, but I decided not to take off my skates.”
“It’s ok. Do you have any extra skates that would fit me?” I asked.
“Yea, I could find some.” He said as we walked down to the ice. I could see Jordan, Marc-Andre, Evgeni, and the other players. Sidney walked over to a couple a racks of skates. He came back carrying a pair of skates.
“See you out there.” He said as he dropped the skates near my feet.“Ok.” I said feebly and put my skates on.

I opened the front door then looked back once more. I felt tears start to form in my eyes. I pushed them back as I closed and locked the door. Sidney took the bag from me and tossed it into the back of his car. He walked over to me as tears came back and flooded my eyes. His arms embraced my body as I sobbed into his shoulder.
“It’s going to be alright.” He said reassuring me. He picked me up and carried me over to the passenger side then opened the door and gently sat me in. He walked around the car and got into drivers’ side and closed his door.
“Lighten up. Remember I have something special planned for you later.” He said. His goofy grin finding his face once again.
“I love you, Sidney.” I said looking into his caramel eyes.
“I love you too, Kay. Don’t you ever forget it.” He said gazing at me with love. He drove out of my parents’ driveway and back towards his house to I could settle into my new house.
It took about ten minutes to get all my clothes in the walk in closet and figure out where to stuff all my bathroom stuff.
“Hey Sid.” I yelled down to him.
“Yea.” He yelled back up. I walked out of the bathroom and down the stairs.
“When’s my surprise?” I said skipping into the kitchen and over to him.
“I don’t know.” He said trying to act like he really didn’t, but I saw right threw it.
“Ok I’ll go along with it. So what are we having for dinner?” I said leaving the subject.
“I was thinking Chinese takeout.” He said putting his arm around my waist.
“Yum.” I walked into the living room and jumped onto the couch. Sidney came and sat next to me. I curled up next to him as he picked up the phone to order our food then switched on the TV. The doorbell rang and Sid got up to get the food. I got up from the couch and went into the kitchen to get some drinks. I heard muffled yelling when I walked back into the living room.
“Hey babe are you coming?” I asked. He didn’t answer. I walked over to the door and opened it. I could feel the rage in my eyes. Sidney and another girl were kissing. Not with tongue but it was still a kiss. I slammed the door and ran upstairs. I ran into the bedroom and collapsed on the floor crying.It seemed like forever, but I finally heard steps coming up the stairs. I could see his shadow coming in threw the crack beneath the door. I wanted him to come in to comfort me, but I wanted him to stay out there and feel the pain I was going through. He walked through the door and walked over to me. I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep. He picked me up and set me in the bed then covered my body with the covers. He kissed my forehead then grabbed one of the blankets in his closet then walked out of the room and closed the door. I tried to fight the battle of sleep, but it won me over. I fell into a deep sleep about a minute after Sid left.

I woke up with cold sheets next to me. I turned and looked at the clock on his bedside table. It said 7:02. I pulled the covers from my body, and walked down stairs. When I went into the living room he wasn’t there nor was he in the kitchen. I walked to the island in the kitchen and there was a handwritten note on it.

Kay,
I’m sorry that I’m not here, but I didn’t want to wake you to tell you this. I was called into an a meeting this morning so that I could start back up with my hockey season. I have to go to practice after that. So I should be home around 8. Be ready because remember we still have to go to your parents’ house. I washed your clothes from last night so you could wear them today; they are sitting on the washer. Oh and there is pancakes in the microwave if you are hungry.

I ate my pancakes then grabbed my clothes. I took my shower quickly and then dried my hair the best I could because he didn’t have a blow dryer. I slipped into my clothes and brushed my hair out a little more. I walked downstairs and looked at the clock again. It read 8:03. He was late. It didn’t bother me though. It was his first time getting back to the ice in a couple of days so I figured he want to hang out a bit. I sat down on his couch and switched the TV on. I heard the garage down open and seconds later Sidney’s door shut. He opened the door leading into the kitchen. I jumped of the couch and jumped into him. He caught me with on hand the other holding his hockey bag. He dropped his bag and embraced me tighter. He kissed me hard before pulling away.
“You ready?” he asked walking towards the stairs.
“Yea you?” I said.
“Give me five minutes.” He said walking up the stairs and toward to the bathroom. I figured he had to take a shower so I slumped back down into the couch. In exactly five minutes Sidney came walking down the stairs smelling wonderful.
“You ready now?” I asked walking towards the garage door.
“Yep.” He said putting his arm around my waist. I opened the door to find a Lamborghini parked in the garage.
“This is yours.” I said eyes about to pop out of my head.
“Yes. Hop in.” He said his goofy grin appearing on his face. I did as he told me to. After about five minutes of arguing on which way to turn, although it was my house we were going to, we finally arrived. I walked over to the mat in front of the house door and lifted it up. I pulled the keys out from under it and opened the door. I set the keys on the key ring near the door then bolted up stairs.
“Make yourself at home. I’ll be back with my stuff in a minute or two.” I screamed down at him. I walked into to my room. It looked the same as I left it. Bed unmade, clothes and papers throw everywhere. I found my back suitcase lying in my closet and started stuffing my clothes in it. A minute later and that suitcase was full to the rim. I grabbed a duffle bag from my closet and stuffed it with my make-up and other bathroom stuff. Then with the remainder space in the duffle bag I put my jewelry.
“Sid?” I yelled for him.
“Yep.” He yelled right back.
“Will you come here and help me with this?” I said softer hearing his footsteps coming up the stairs. He was there in a couple of seconds. Sidney walked over to my suitcase and lifted it up.
“Lord! What is in this thing?” He said pretending the weight was overbearing.
“Just a couple of pounds of metal. You know the usual.” I said laughing.
“So I’m guessing we don’t have to go buy you any clothes.” He said lugging the bag down the hall. I looked at my now empty room and sighed. I need to leave the hurtful memories behind and that’s what I did.“You guessed right.” I said pulling the duffle bag over my shoulder and hauled in downstairs.

I walked into his house in awe. The living room had a huge flat-screen TV hanging in on of the corners. There was a soft comforting brown couch leaning against on of the other walls. A coffee table was positioned in front of the couch with a couple of empty cups sitting on it. I walked past the couch and into the kitchen. There was a granite island centered in the kitchen. Sidney left my side and over to the fridge and opened it.
“Do you want anything to drink?” He asked his head still in the fridge.
“Nah, but do I get a tour of your house?” I asked leaning over the fridge door looking down at him. He backed out of the fridge and looked at me.
“Sure.” He said putting his arm around my waist and leading me up to the stairs. We walked up the stairs together and walked into a room on my left. It was full of trophies, medals, and jerseys. I walked out of the room leaving Sidney and walked down the hall. I peeked in another room. It was an office. It had a desk leaning against on wall with a flat-screen computer monitor on it. I closed the office’s door and walked further down the hall. I looked into an open doorway. This room only had a newly made bed. I walked into the room and sat down on the bed.
“Hey Sidney.” I yelled for him. I heard him running down the hall and stopping and the room.
“Yea, Kay.” He answered walking into the room and sitting next to me.
“What is this room for? Is it your bedroom?” I asked curiously.
“No, this is just an extra room for so friends if they wanna stay over with me instead of going to their house.” He answered taking my hands and pulling me from the bed and backing out of the room.
“Wait, have other girls slept in here?” I asked pulling him back into the room.
“Well, I can’t lie to you so yes, but no girl has ever slept in my bed.” He said suspiciously.
“Oh and where might your bed room be?” I asked being pulled from the room once again.
“Well you’re just going to have to wait until it is bed time.” He said laughing as he pulled me toward the stairs. I pulled away quickly and ran back down the hall to the door I thought was Sidney’s bedroom. I opened the door with luck that it was his bedroom. I was right. There was another flat-screen TV hanging on a wall directly in front of a king sized bed. There was a huge walk in closet. I saw another door and opened it and there was a huge tub with two sinks in front of it. I couldn’t see a shower or toilet. I turned the corner in the bathroom and saw a walk in shower with a wall separating the toilet from the shower. I turned around to walk out and find Sidney when I half screamed. Sidney had creep up on me so silently I never noticed. I hit him hard in the arm then slipped past him and ran into the hallway and down the stairs.
“Catch me if you can!” I screamed back act like a five year old. I ran to the front door opened it then closed it with a slam. Then I tiptoed into the living room and hid behind the couch. I heard Sidney jog down the stairs and open the door. I heard him curse under his breath as he looked out the door. He slammed the door closed and came to sit on the couch.
“How could she just leave me? I said I loved her so many times. She doesn’t even have anywhere to go.” He said with a sigh. He took the remote and clicked the TV on. I slowly stood up careful not to make any noise.
“How could you ever think I would leave you?” I asked silently. Sidney jumped when he heard me talk. He turned his head and lifted his arms to grab me and pull me over the couch into his arms. I backed away out of his reach.
“I could have been out there hiding in the cold and you would just be sitting there thinking I left you.” I said walking around the couch and over to the door.
“I thought you loved me. How could you just sit on that couch when I could be freezing outside waiting for you to find me? I really don’t know about you now.” I said fuming now. Sidney stood up and walked over to me. I put my hand on the door knob about to open it. He put his arms around me and pulled my hand from the door. I tried to break his embrace, but he only pulled me closer. He buried his face into my neck and breathed heavily.
“I’m sorry,” he said softly, “I didn’t mean to hurt you. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t and yet I went and did it.” He pulled away and walked over to the stairs.
“You can stay if you want. I know you must hate me now. I want you to not only because I love and care for you but because I know you don’t have anywhere to go and I don’t want you to sleep in the cold.” Sidney said as he walked up the stairs. I followed him up to his bedroom. He turned around to look at me. He turned back around and opened his dresser and grabbed a sweat shirt and some sweat pants. He walked into the bathroom and changed. He threw is other clothes in a hamper in the corner and walked out of the bathroom.
“Sidney?” I said looking down. There was no answer. I looked up and saw him sitting on the bed.
“Sidney?” I said again walking over to him.
“Here. You can sleep here. I’ll sleep in the guest room or even the living room if you want me to.” He said standing up and looking towards the door. He started to walk, but I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
“Sidney, answer me.” I said softly. He turned and looked at me.
“Yes.” He finally answered.
“I don’t want you to sleep in the guest room…” Sidney cut me off.
“Fine I’ll sleep in the living room.” I put my lips on his to silence him.
“Let me finish. I don’t want you to sleep in the living room either or anywhere else but with me. I want you to sleep next to me in this bed.” I said pointing to king sized bed.
“I love you, Sidney.” I said looking down.
“I love you too, Kay. So do you forgive me for everything that just happened?” He asked taking my hand and rubbed the back of it with his thumb. I answered his question by kissing him hard then again. I pulled away suddenly realizing something.
“Hey, did you leave the clothe bags at the hospital?” I asked looking up at him. He laughed.
“I think I did.” He said still laugh a bit.
“Well, what am I going to wear tonight and tomorrow and so on?” I asked smiling. He walked over to his dresser and pulled out another pair of sweat pant and shirt. He threw them at me.
“Here you go. Go into the bathroom go get changed then we could go either go back to the hospital or go buy more clothes.” He said. I went into the bathroom and changed and took of most of my makeup. I walked back out and sat next to him on the bed.
“If we could can you drive me to my parents’ house so I can pick up some personal things?” I asked.
“Sure anything for you.” Sidney sad smiling. He stood up grabbed the remote and crawled under the blankets. I followed him under the blankets. I inhaled the scent from the covers. It smelled like him. He turned on the TV as I curled into his chest. I could hear him start to snore after about a couple of minutes. I took the remote from his hand and switched the TV off then curled back into his chest. I could hear his heart beat slow down and soon my heart beat slowed and followed his. After a couple more minutes and I was now drifting off too.

I woke up shivering the next morning. I opened my eyes only to see grass in front of them. I sat up from where I was laying and looked around. I could no longer see the flames of the fire from the hospital only the smoke from it. I looked to my left thinking Sidney would be there, but he wasn't. I started to think why he would just leave me here. I thought he loved me. Why would he leave me? I stood up and started searching for my bag of clothes. I found it lying behind the tree I was sleeping on. There was only one bag sitting there, and it was mine. I sadly opened the bag and searched for something to wear. I picked out a baby blue short sleeve shirt, some light colored washed jeans, and some white socks and shoes. I closed the bag and sat it down by the tree I found it by. There was something different though. There was another bag sitting there when I came back. I walked around the huge tree only to find Sidney leaning against the tree. I guessed he was thinking where I was. I silently creep up on him. I jump out in front of him screaming a little bit. I saw him jump a little, but I was sure he wouldn't admit it so I didn't try to make him. He had changed his clothes so I guessed the he was changing when I woke up.
"Where were you? I was so worried, Kay." Sidney asked
"I was changing behind that tree over there. So...” I said.
"So what?" He asked.
"So...How do I look?" I said a little annoyed. He looked me over for a little while.
"You look amazing!" He replied picking me up and kissing me. We kissed for a while longer before I pulled away. He looked at me weird when I did that.
"Don't you think we should go back to the hospital? They might be worried about us and what about your parents?" I asked.
"Yea, we should go back and see what is left of the hospital." Sidney replied walking over to the bags behind the tree. We walked again for what felt like an eternity, but it must have been worst for Sidney because he was carrying two full bags of clothes. We arrived at the hospital's front door about 25 minutes after we left the tree. We couldn't see anything or anybody. Sidney put his face to the door and started looking around. He pulled his face back and tugged on the door. It opened. He started to pick up the bags when I put a hand on his arm and said, "Don't. Just leave them here. We probably won't find anything here, and if we need them then we can come back."
"OK." He replied and tossed the bags behind a bush that didn't get burnt by the fire. He opened the door and held his arm out meaning me to go first. I walked into the half burnt hospital. Sidney walked in behind me and put his arm around my waist. We walked around for a while until we came upon our room. Sidney kicked the door open only to find that the door crumbled to black pieces. The curtain and beds were charred from the fire. We left the room and started to walk back to the front door because there was nothing left here to see, and I was afraid of finding someone who couldn't get out of the fire in time. We were almost to the door when Sidney heard a car pull up into the hospital parking lot.
"Did you hear that?" Sidney asked referring to the car.
"Yea, it sounded like a car." I replied. With that Sidney and I quickened our pace. I walked out the door, Sidney's arm still around my waist. I saw a young woman with blonde hair step out of the car Sidney and I heard. The woman turned around and her jaw dropped. The woman was Claire, Sidney and I's nurse. I ran out of Sidney's arms and into a huge hug with Claire.
"How are you alive, Kay? The fire last night had you and Sidney locked in your room." She gasped. Sidney was slowly walking over to where we were.
"Sidney threw a chair threw the window and once we climbed out we just keep walking until we thought we were far enough away from the hospital. How did the fire start?" I asked as Sidney made his last steps toward us.
"One of the visitors was smoking and instead of putting it out he through it into a garbage that was full with paper. Then that fire from the paper moved onto the couch it was sitting beside and so on." Claire replied.
"Hey Claire." Sidney said as he put his arm back around my waist.
"Hello Sidney, do you want me to take you to your house because your parents are really worried?" Claire asked.
"Yea, thanks." Sidney said. We jumped into the back of Claire's car. Claire started the car and headed of toward Cole Harbor. We arrived at his mom's house.
"Here we are." Claire said.
"Thanks." Sidney and I said simultaneously.
"Good-Bye. Hope you have a great time." She screamed out the car as she backed out of the driveway. Sidney brought is arm around my waist again and showed me to his parents' door. He rang the door bell and waited for the door to open. A little girl, who looked around nine, opened the door.
"Sidney!" She yelled hugging him.
"Hey Taylor. This is my...... girlfriend, Kay." Sidney said looking at me when he said girlfriend.
"Hey! I'm Sidney's little sister, Taylor." She said. Taylor opened the door more so we could walk in. We walked into is parents' living room.
"Mom! Sidney's home. I think he has someone he wants you to meet." Taylor said running into the living room. I blushed at what Taylor had said when Sidney pulled me closer and walked further into the house. Sidney's parents got up from the couch and came to hug him.
"My Sidney, I was so worried about you when I heard about the fire at the hospital." His mother said.
"It's OK mom, I'm fine." Sidney replied.
"Oh, and who is this." Sidney's mom said looking over to me.
"Mom this is Kay, my girlfriend." He replied.
"Oh, well hi Kay. I'm Trina, Sidney's mom." She said.
"And I'm Troy, Sidney's father." Sidney's dad said from behind Trina, winking at Sidney.
"Hi, you have raised a decent young man." I said trying to act sophisticated. They all laugh at that then we all walked into the living room and sat down.
"Hey mom, can you drive Kay and me over to my house?" Sidney asked.
"Yes, but I was wondering if you would like to say for dinner first?" Trina answered back. Sidney looked at me questioning.
"We would love to stay." I said for Sidney. We watched TV until dinner was ready.
“You know Sidney was just in a relationship that we all thought was soon going to be a wedding” Taylor said looking up at me from the floor below Sidney.
“Oh really!” ii answered now looking at Sidney, who was staring strait at the television.
“Yes, her name was Kate Goodwin.” Taylor replied. I playfully hit Sidney's arm then turned to face him. His face was bright red.
“Go help mom, Taylor!” Sidney said forcefully. She quickly got up and almost ran into the kitchen.
“Now I know the perfect person to ask for all the information on your past relationships.” I said smiling while looking at him. Sidney turned away from the TV and looked at me glaring.
"OK, let’s go people. Get into this dinning room for some dinner." Troy said walking into the dinning room.
“Just in time.” I said as Sidney and I walked to our seats in the dinning room. Dinner was amazing. Trina had made lasagna. We finished dinner, and Trina told us to wait in the car because she ad to go get her purse. We took that time to kiss a little bit, but we stopped just before Trina opened the garage door. She turned on the ignition and pulled out of the garage. We didn't talk much on the ride to Sidney's house.
"Good-Bye, Sidney. It was nice to meet you Kay." Trina said as she pulled into Sidney's driveway.
"Bye mom. Love you." Sidney said jumping out of the car.
"Good-Bye, Trina. Thank you for dinner." I said opening the door.
"You're welcome, Kay." Trina said. Sidney and I waved to Trina as she drove down the road. Sidney pulled me in close and kissed me hard. He pulled away minutes later and walked to his front door. I followed him inside still feeling the heat from his lips on mine. I smiled at the thought of that.
"What?" He said sensing my smile.
"Nothing." I replied.

I was shaken awake by Sidney. I turned over and looked at the clock. It read 2:30A.M. I turned back to Sidney with a questioning look on my face. I looked at him for a long time until the smell of something burning, and that's when I started to talk.
"Uh, why am I awake at 2:30 in the morning, and why do I smell something burning?" I asked him. It had gotten really hot in the room so I tossed the blanket off my legs, but that didn't work the heat was suffocating me.
"There's a fire, and we're stuck in this room." He said, but I could see the panic in his face. I jumped up and grabbed my bag of clothes then ran over to get Sidney's bag. I came back and looked at Sidney, who was still sitting on my bed.
"Are you mad? Why are you just sitting there? We have to get out of here!" I half screamed at him.
"What are we suppose to do? We are stuck in this room and left to die." He replied in a calm voice. I looked around when my eyes settled on the window.
"What about the window?" I asked hopefully.
"Tried opening it. It didn't work." He said sadly. I looked around again, and my eyes settled on a chair in the corner for where visitors would sit, that is if I had any. I walked over to it and tried to lift it. The chair didn't budge an inch."Sid, come over here and help me pick up this chair." I said. He looked at me weird at first, but his weird look soon became a happy one. He walked over and lifted the chair all by himself. Sidney walked over to the window and threw the chair at it. The window shattered into a million little pieces. Sidney grabbed the two bags sitting by the window and threw them out the window. Sidney then climbed out kicking out the left over pieces of glass still left in the window frame. Once outside he turned around with arms outstretched. I climbed into his arms as he lifted me out of the burning hospital. We grabbed our bags and walked away from the burning building. Sidney and I must have walked for a long time because when we turned around to see how far we were all we could see was the flames from the fire. Sidney found a huge tree and laid our bags down then slid down to the ground himself. I did the same. I heard sirens in the distance. I wanted to walk nearer to the hospital, but I was so tired I couldn't get the strength to stand up. I laid my head on Sidney's shoulder, and he put his on my head. Both of us were soon sleeping soundly droning out the sirens in the distance. Just forgetting the fire and the broken window.

I woke the next morning really cold. I opened my eyes and saw an empty bed. “Sidney?” I asked. “Yes.” A young woman said. I guessed it was Claire. I was right. She opened the curtain and walked into my side of the room. “So how are you doing today Kay?” she asked. “Fine, but can you ask the doctor when I can start to walk around. Please.” I said sweetly and innocently. “No, you can ask him yourself. Doctor?” Claire asked. “Yes.” Dr. Cole answered. “Kay has a question for you.”“OK. I’ll be there in a second let me finish up with Sidney over here.” Dr. Cole said. A couple minutes passed Dr. Cole pushed back the curtain and walked in. “So what did you want to ask me, Kay?” He said as he walked over to my bed. “Um, when can I start walking again?” I said. “Well I guess you could start right about now.” He replied. I sat up when he said that and pulled my legs over to the side of the bed. When my feet touched the floor a chill went up my back. So far nothing bad was happening. I took a couple steps toward Claire ad everything went well. “Um, Claire, I was wondering if you could go to the store and get me some clothes to wear instead of this cover up thing.” I asked politely. Claire looked at the Dr. Cole, he nodded."What would you like me to pick up other than.... under garments?" Claire asked pausing before the words "under garments"."Um, I guess a couple tank tops, T-shirts, a couple pair of jeans, and some pajama pants and a pajama shirt, and some socks and shoes." I answered. At that Claire walked out looking for her purse for some money. Dr. Cole walked out of my side of the room and into Sidney's."Before you go could you like page Claire to get me some clothes to?" Sidney asked. Dr. Cole reached for his pager. Claire came in after a minute."Yes, I thought I was getting Kay clothes." She said confused. “Yes, you are going to do that, but you will also be picking up some undergarments, jeans, shirts, and some pajamas, and socks and shoes for Sidney." He replied. Claire nodded then walked out toward the front of the hospital. Dr. Cole left just as soon as Claire did. Sidney came over to my side of the room. I moved over so Sidney could sit on the bed comfortably."So, when did you go back to your bed?" I asked."When I heard the door open this morning.""So you stayed with me the whole night?""Yes, why are you acting so surprised? You know I love you and would never leave your side unless it was like this morning to like not be found sleeping with you because then Dr. Cole would have probably me sent to another room. And I know you would want that because I make your world go round. Don't I?" He said this with a smile forming on his face."I don't know. You are the one who knows everything so you tell me if you make my world go round." I replied in a sassy tone."OH! I think I do. Do you remember what you told me last night?""Yes." I said looking down."And what was it." He pressed on. Sidney wanted me to say those three little words, but I was so afraid. I knew I said it last night, but I was so tired and I didn't know what I was saying. I really meant it, but that doesn't mean that they can't be afraid to say it again. Can they?"I love you, Sidney." I said. It was barley audible, but I was sure he heard me. Of course he wanted me to say it again saying he couldn't hear it. I could see it in his eyes that he was doing this for my own good not just because he wanted to hear it."I love you, Sidney." I said again in my normal voice. I was no longer afraid of saying those three little words, and I was sure I would say them tonight to Sidney."I know. I love you too, Kay." Sidney replied leaning in. He kissed me hard. Then again and again and again. We were lip/tongue locked for what seemed like an eternity. I pulled back feeling like I was turning purple. I took a deep huge breath and then another. I looked up. Sidney was breathing hard too.".....That was the longest......kiss I've ever had." I said taking a couple breaths in between."I know.” Sidney said still breathing heavy. I scooted over into his arms while he turned on the TV."What do you wanna watch until Claire gets back?" Sidney asked turning towards me."Your lips." I said smiling up at him. He laughed when I said that. He kissed me again, but this time we took breaths during the kisses. We stopped after a while and actually started watching TV. Sidney flipped to the sports channel and hockey was on. The Pittsburgh Penguins were playing against the Detroit Red Wings. They were playing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania."Ahhh! Oh my gosh, I love hockey!" I half screamed."You do? Well you should know that I should be playing in that game right now." Sidney said happily. My eyes bulged out so far I thought they were going to fall out if I moved them.
"You mean you are the all star hockey player!" I asked excited.
"Yep." He said smiling. We watched the whole game, and the Penguins won 5-0. We both cheered every time the scored, and grabbed each other's hand hard every time the Red Wings got close to scoring. It was around 10:30 at night when Claire walked in with two huge filled to the rim with clothes bags. She came to my side of the bags. Her jaw dropped when she looked up at Sidney and me."OK, I know this looks bad but please don't tell Dr. Cole." Sidney said taking his bag from Claire's left hand."OK." Claire said nodding. She walked over to me putting the bag on the edge of the bed."It's time to go to bed, Sidney and Kay. Once you get dressed in your pajamas please get into YOUR bed and either go strait to bed or watch some TV, but you must be in YOUR bed." Claire said putting emphases on the word "your". She walked out of the room for us to change. I rummaged through the bag searching for the pajamas. I ripped the tags off the black sweat pants, T-shirt, and undergarments and put them on. Once I did that I crawled into my bed happy because I actually had clothes on. I heard Sidney drop his bag on the ground with a thud then his feet walking over to the curtain. He pulled the curtain back and walked over to my bed. I moved over when he scooted in. Our bodies fit perfectly together.
"You know your not suppose to be over here.” I said with a smile on my face. He laughed at that. I turned toward his face then curled into his chest. I could hear Sidney turn on the TV and started watching it for a while. I drifted off to sleep like that, curled in Sidney's arm listening to the hushed TV.

Falling in Love-Ch3

“Even if it was some of your parents fault I still blame myself for everything. Especially for ruining your life.” Sidney said turned away from my face. I could feel the hurt he as going through.
“You didn’t ruin my life. You made it better, Sidney. If it weren’t for the crash I wouldn’t have met you.” I said kinda embarrassed.
“Are you saying you have a crush on me?” Sidney asked getting his happiness back.
“I don’t know do you want me to have a crush on you?” I asked trying to be funny.
“Ha-ha, maybe I do maybe I don’t.” Sidney said trying to act normal, but I could see he really liked me.
“Well, I don’t think I should because I just met you and plus I probably shouldn’t date a criminal.” I said starting to laugh. It was silent for a while. I looked up at Sidney and saw that he was on the verge of crying.
“Sidney?” I asked.
“Yes.” He answered. I could see it was hard for him to talk.
“You know I was joking. Please come over here.” I said softening my voice.
“I know, but I can’t help but blame myself for everything. Ever since I saw you lying on the bottom of the car floor I fell in love with you. How your hair glittered in the sun. I know it wasn’t the most beautiful moment, but it was for me. I love you, Kay. I know it’s only been a day or so, but I truly love you.” Sidney said. I was in shock about what he had just said I was almost crying when Claire walked in with Dr. Cole right at her heels. I wiped away my tears and so did Sidney as they walked over to me.
“Ok kids time to go to bed. I know it’s been a long day for both of you so I think you will be glad to have some rest time.” Dr. Cole said as he directed Claire to close the curtain then walked out.
About a minute after Claire and the doctor left I heard Sidney start to softly cry. I felt so bad because I was the one he loved and I was also the one who ruined his life.
“Hey Sidney, do you hate me because you love me, but in the process of that I ruined your life?” I asked quietly.
“What? How could you ever think I would hate you? I love you with all my heart, Kay. How could you think of something like that?” He asked calming down a bit.
“I thought that because if I told my parents to stop arguing then my dad would’ve seen you and you and I wouldn’t be in this mess. I ruined your life Sidney how could you love me after that?” I asked still on the verge of crying.
“If it weren’t for this mess than I would have never met you and fallen in love, Kay. The result of a horrible accident is that two people have fallen in love.” Sidney said as he pulled the curtain back to come lay next to me. I scooted over so he could fit. I let him put his arm around my body. His arm was so warm and comforting. I turned around and looked at his beautiful face in the moonlight coming in from the window. "I finally found the one." I thought to myself.
“I love you, Sidney, and I always will.” I said softly. He took his hand under my chin and lifted my lips up to his. He kissed me ever so gently I barely noticed. I feel asleep in his arms that night.

Falling in Love-Ch2

Once again I woke up lying on a white bed, the sheets had been changed, in a white room, but this time the curtain was pulled back and Sidney was sitting on the bed talking to the doctor while Claire was putting stuff back on cart and cleaning it.
“Hey, she’s awake.” Sidney said. The doctor stopped asking Sidney questions and turned to look at me.
“Well hello there. I’m Dr. Carter Cole. Do you have any questions to ask me?” Dr. Cole asked as he walked over to my bed.
“Yes, why am I here and what happened to my back? Why was I bleeding so much and how did I start to bleed all I did was sit up?” I asked anxiously, but this time I didn’t try to sit up.
“The answer to your first question is that you were terribly hurt in a car collision and nearly missed death, but sadly your parents didn’t. So far we haven’t figured out where you are going to live yet. Your back started bleeding because we didn’t see how badly the cut on your back was, and when you tried to sit up you disturbed the wound enough that it opened and started to bleed. Oh and you can sit up just don’t try to walk just yet, ok?” Dr. Cole said.
“Ok. Wait, are you saying that my parents are dead?” I asked trying hard to keep the tears from coming out.
I could see sorrow in his eyes as he said, “Yes, I’m so very sorry for your loss.” I broke out sobbing covering my eyes with my hands as I did. Dr. Cole patted me on the back then left whispering to Claire to comfort me because he had to go tend to another situation. Claire walked over to me and sat on the side of the bed while putting an arm around my shoulder saying that it’s going to be ok. After about five minutes of strait crying I finally ran out, and Claire got up and asked, “Do you want anything to drink or eat?”
“Yes I would. I would like some apple juice and a grilled cheese” I answered.
"OK." Claire said
“WHAT! I didn’t know we were allowed to order here. I was just given food and told to eat it can I have some apple juice and a grilled cheese too?” Sidney asked a little mad and excited at the same time.
“Oh, I guess you could. I’ll be right back with your food.” Claire said as she walked out of the room. I finally got to look at Sidney for the first time fully, but boy can I tell you. He was amazingly cute! I started to blush when he stood up and walked over to sit on my bed so he could talk without screaming.
“So what are you in here for?” I asked still blushing and hoping he wouldn’t notice.
“Your question sounds like I’m in jail.” Sidney said half laughing.
“Ha-ha, Sidney you are so funny.” I said half laughing.
“I’m here because I was training for hockey on my bike riding across the rode when the front bumper of a car collided with the back wheel of my bike. I’ve been here since this morning.” Sidney said.
“Wow, well I definitely beat your story. I mean my parents are dead and I almost died because I wanted to sit up.” I answered.
“Yea about that I was the one who killed your parents.” He answered blankly.
“What? How could you they were killed in the crash... Oh wait, you were the reason we crashed. Oh my gosh, you must be blaming yourself for everything” I said sadly.
“I do blame myself for everything. I mean I robbed a beautiful girl of her parents, and the rest of her normal life.” Sidney said starting to walk back to his side of the room.
“Wait, you shouldn’t blame yourself. My parents should have seen you they were to distracted arguing about whether it was right for me to get my own house.” I said blushing a little after what he had just said. Sidney was about to say something when Claire walked in with the food.
“Ok I'm back, get into your bed and pull your tray over.” She said as she closed the door. Sidney and I both pulled our trays over as Claire put of food on them. I ate vigorously and so did Sidney. It was like I hadn’t eaten in years. Claire stayed with us until we finished eating then took our plates.“Just push the button on the wall if you need anything else.” She said as she walked out of the door.

Falling in Love-Ch1

I screamed bloody murder then the lights suddenly started to dim. I wondered how the lights would go out if I was ou…… I woke up lying on a white bed in a white room with a TV hanging from the other wall and an aqua curtain separating the white room. I heard talking coming from the other side of the curtain.
“So how are you doing today, Mr. Sidney Crosby?” a woman in her twenty’s asked.
“I feel great, but I could use another remote for the TV.” Sidney said.
“Oh, and what did you do with the last remote we gave you last week?” the woman asked.
“Uh….. It got taken by aliens.” Sidney could barely keep the laughter out of his sentence.
“Oh I’m sure that that’s what happened, Sidney. I’ll be back with your remote after I check up on some other people.” The woman said sarcastically. The aqua curtain was pulled back just far enough for a slender young blonde haired woman to walk through.
“Hello, Kay Stone. How are you doing today? My name is Claire, and I’m going to be your nurse.” Claire said. I tried to sit up so I could talk to her better when sharp shooting pain came from my back. I howled with pain. I heard Sidney jump out of his bed and pull back the curtain as Claire rushed over to help me. “GO GET DR. COLE, SIDNEY!” Claire screamed as she saw blood start to trickle down my back. Sidney ran out the room yelling for a doctor. One long excruciating minute passed before a doctor with light white hair in about his sixties came in. He scuffled over with nurse pushing a cart with bandages close behind him. I could see the shock on his face as he saw the blood coming from my back. He called for more nurses then they flipped me over onto my belly. I felt a little prick on my right arm then everything went black again.
