Falling in Love-Ch11

I walked over to the door and stepped onto the ice. I skated around a bit, staying out of the way of Sidney and the other players doing their drills. As the players were finishing their last drills, which Sidney had already done, Sidney skated over to where I was.
“Keep skating, I’ll be back in a few minutes.” He said then skated off towards the locker rooms. I turned a corner then skated over to the bench. I searched for the bottle that had Sidney’s name on it and took a sip. As I was about to go around the ice again, someone skated up behind me. I turned my body and was soon staring into Sidney's caramel gaze.
“Hey” he said.
“Hey” I said backing into the bench door.
Sidney hesitated before saying, “Do you want to get something to eat before I leave for Geno’s house?”
“No, I wa…”
“Then why did you come? Did you just come to skate or…… do you want to talk?” He said interrupting me.
“Sidney? I don’t want you to go to Evgeni’s house.” I said staring at the ice.
“Why? What do you think I would do? Do you think I would go to some bar, get drunk, and do something I would regret in the morning?” Sidney said raising his voice.
“No I don’t think you would do anything like that. I hope. I don’t want you to stay there because I don’t want you to leave me just because of one fight. The reason I came here is because I want you to tell me the whole story of who she is and what happened last night.” I said trying really hard not to let my tears come out like Niagara Falls. Sidney turned his back to me then skated off towards the locker rooms like someone I couldn’t hear called him. I couldn’t fight them anymore; the tears flowed freely from my eyes as I stared toward the locker rooms hoping, praying that he would skate back onto the ice and engulf me in his arms. Still crying I skated towards the door that led off the ice. As I opened the door, I heard a loud thud come from the other side of the ice. A laugh escaped my mouth as I gazed at Sidney flat on his butt as his bag slid towards the far left wall.
“Hey! I thought you were an all-star hockey player.” I yelled as I wiped the tears from my eyes. Sidney slowly stood up as I lugged him bag over to him.
“I am an all-star hockey player I just……”
“You just what?” I said as he took his bag from me and slung it over his shoulder.
“Oh like you have never fallen before.” He said as we skated off the ice. I didn’t reply to that because I didn’t want him to know how many times I actually fell. I sat down on the floor and started taking off my skates. Sidney sat down next to me, untying his skates, stuffing them into his bag, and putting on his sneakers. We walked up the stairs and outside.
“See you at home.” I said as I started to walk to the mustang. Sidney grabbed my arm lightly and pulled me back into his body. I moved my head upward and stared into his caramel gaze. We stood like that for what seemed like forever. He lowered his head onto my shoulders as I laid my head onto his chest.
“I love you, and I’m sorry for hurting you.” He whispered into my ear. I answered that by putting my lips to his. I could feel a smile form on his lips as we kissed.
“I know.” I said pulling away. He smiled at that then put his arm around my waist as we started walking towards the car.
“Wait, aren’t you going to drive your car?” I asked.
“I can’t. Jordan picked me up this morning.” He replied.
“Oh.” I said as I slipped into the passenger side seat and handed Sidney the keys. It was a silent ride home, but Sidney finally pulled into the driveway.
