Falling in Love-Ch12

Once inside I walked into the kitchen and grabbed the Chinese we were suppose to eat last night then carried it into the living room. I handed Sid his food then sat down in the chair next to the tan couch. I waited for a while thinking he would start to talk, but he never did.
“I want to know the whole story.” I said muting the TV. “From the beginning.” I added.
“Ok.” He said taking in a deep breath.
“I was in 9th grade and my friend told me that he had heard that Rosa Titaline, who was the hottest girl at the time, liked me.” He said taking another deep breath.
“Is Rosa the girl from last night?” I asked already knowing the answer.
“Yes.” He said quietly, “Anyways, I went to ask her out to the homecoming dance. When I did she said yes and by the end of the year we were voted cutest couple. We were inseparable during the summer and most of 10th grade. My life was perfect until I found out Rosa was cheating on me. My friend, Bobby, had caught her kissing on of the football players. I broke up with her that day after school.” He said taking in a deep breath again.
“Did you not even ask her about it?” I asked.
“Not really. I asked about it once and all she said that it was a wrong thing to do, that she would never do it again, that I shouldn’t break up with her, and other things like that.” E replied.
“Well, why did she kiss you last night?” I asked coming back to the original question.
“Well she never gave up the grudge that she had after I broke up with her. Everyday she would look more and more beautiful, and I would feel horrible for breaking up with her. But one day near the end of the school year, I had gotten news that Joey, my best friend, was dating Rosa. I told him to break up with her because I knew she was going to do the same thing to him as she did to me, but he did listen to me. That same day Rosa came up to me and pleaded me to take her back. After saying no for what seemed like 50 times, Rosa leaned in and kissed me. With my luck Joey walked into the room we were in. He went ballistics. He yelled and screamed then walked out of the room, but not before breaking up with Rosa. In that moment I made a promise to myself that I would never let Rosa ruin my life, and I just broke that promise last night.” He said. We sat there for a while jut taking in everything.
“How does she know where you live?” I asked breaking the silence.
“Before we left my parents’ house my mom said that Rosa had called. She never knew what happened between Rosa and me, and my mom told her.’ He replied. It was quiet again for a while.
“I should get going for my game now.” He said getting up from the couch.
“Can I come?”
“Oh course.” He said taking my empty Chinese box.
We headed for the Mellon Arena in Sidney’s Volvo.
I took a sip of my coke and settled into my seat right behind the Penguins’ bench.
“Please welcome your Pittsburgh Penguins!” said the announcer as the crowd cheered loudly. The rival team, the Montreal Canadians, came out next without much excitement. The teams warmed up for about five minutes before the game started. The game went by quickly, partly because it seemed like the Penguins scored every other 3 minute. The game ended with the score 6-2 with the Penguins in the lead.
